Ellen Charapko Gallery

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wilton Manors (Ft Lauderdale), Florida, USA, Sept 17, 2007______________The Ellen Charapko Gallery presents a solo exhibition for Miami artist, Cesar Garcia. "Parallel Universe" will be on display from Oct 13th through Nov 4th, 2007.

The public is invited to join the gallery for a reception with the artist on Friday, Oct 19th, 7:00-10:00 p.m.

Cesar Garcia's mixed media artwork is bold; paintings that make a statement. His affinity for the "old world" is evident throughout his entire body of work. Monochromatic colors lend to the theme, with paint dripping in an abandoned method adding to the enchantment. "Other-worldly" medieval castles will captivate your attention and just when you think you've interpreted his work you discover an element of surprise, a hint of the future, or then again, what might have always been present: old and modern worlds brought together on one canvas after another.

Cesar Garcia's artwork can be found in various public collections including the State of Florida Division of Cultural Affairs, Tallahassee, Florida; the University of Miami (Casa Bacardi), Institute for Cuban and Cuban American Studies, the Housatonic Museum of Art, Bridgeport, Connecticut, Art in Public Places, Village of Wellington, Florida, just to name a few. In 2006 he was selected to participate in group shows at the Ormond Memorial Museum and Garden, Ormond Beach, Florida and the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) Long Beach, California.
